The sum is greater than its parts
I’m amazed at how much passion people have for doing good and how badly they want to help worthy charitable organizations. Now that our service is up and running and our users are building their networks, I’ve had the opportunity to read many of the uPlej user pages and see individuals from every walk of life express how much they care about giving and how they want to make a difference. And they are making a difference.
So how can you, just one person, make a difference for charity? Can you volunteer your time to do some work for your charity? Yes. How about donating a portion of your salary to your favorite cause? Absolutely! You can make a difference.
But you should consider your greatest asset. It’s something greater than the time you can give and the money you donate, a resource that has no limitations. That asset is your network—your family, your friends and the people you work with. By involving those in your network and letting them know about the passion you have about charity, you give them inspiration. And when those in your network are inspired, they communicate to the people in their network and let them know about their passion for charity.
Before long you have a network that perpetually grows and charity exponentially benefits. The sum, your personal network and your extended networks working together, is greater than its parts, individuals working alone to make a difference. And that’s the beauty of uPlej. You can share your passion for charity with those you know and you can inspire them to join your charitable giving network. Together, you and everyone in your network can pool your resources and do more for charity than you could imagine, and considerably more than you could do by yourself.
