It is what it is
My last boss always used the term “it is what it is”. It’s probably the best thing I learned from that job. Let me define what I think it means. What it means is you have to do all you can and then after that it really “is what it is”.
Don’t try to force things just let them work themselves out. Business, family life, sports activities and whatever you are doing, this phrase can apply. However, it does not mean you let others predicate your future.
So the next time you are expecting something “a raise” or maybe a pat on the back. Just think, oh well “it is what it is”. Then go back to work and try again.
